We left for Hong Kong today. My brother fell down the day before, so he needed a wheelchair to get to the aeroplane.

After breakfast, we visited an old fishing village at Aberdeen. There is a famous floating restaurant there called “Jumbo”, where Jackie Chan has shot several movies. The boats were decorated with many colourful lanterns. We also went to Repulse Bay where there’s a beautiful beach.

We went to Disneyland. We stayed at the Hollywood Hotel which is nearby. We spent the whole day going for all the rides in Disneyland. It was really fun! I met a school friend there and we went for the Dumbo Flying ride together. I most enjoyed the AstroBlasters ride. Mom & I went on that many times, trying to get higher scores with each ride!

There were beautiful fireworks at the Sleeping Beauty Castle at night.

After a sumptious breakfast at Chef Mickey’s cafĂ©, we took an “Express Train” direct to China. It took us a rather long 4 hours to reach the city of ZhaoQing though. Many of my Grandmother’s nephews were waiting for us at that train station. They brought us to stay at a hotel with really huge rooms.

Our relatives brought us to the village where my Grandmother was born. We saw the well that Grandma used to draw water from everyday. They made us enormous rice dumplings to eat for lunch.

We spent the afternoon hiking at the DingHu Mountains, which has fresh air and delicious beancurd made from the natural mountain springs. We fun splashing at the waterfall pools

Dad’s uncle, who is a priest, held a mass for all the relatives in the village.

Look at the many relatives we have in the village!

Took a bus back from China to Hong Kong. All the relatives came to bid farewell. The bus ride was bumpy and not as comfortable as the train. There were floods all over Southern China, but thankfully, we made it back to Hong Kong safely.

Went to Ocean Park. It was not so great as it rained the whole day! We did get to see the cute pandas, and the dolphin show was fabulous! We also saw a stingray that kept coming up to say “Hi!”.

After breakfast, we left for the airport to take a flight back to Singapore. We watched a very interesting movie “CJ 7” on board. Too bad, the movie started very late, so we missed watching the whole show.

We had a fairly enjoyable holiday.
