LP Compo

Composition assignment for LP. Written while right arm was in a cast.

Ali was listless as he had just come back from school and had no homework to do. He went to the playground to play when he found a lamp.

He was so excited that he quickly picked it up and rubbed it a few times. Suddenly, a puff of smoke came out from the lamp! A small chubby-faced genie popped out. Ali had watched the movie “Aladdin” and knew that genies could grant wishes, so he said “I wish I could score perfect marks in all my exams!”. Ali smiled excitedly for a few seconds. His smile soon turned into a frown as he realized much to his disappointment, that the genie was a baby, and could only say “goo-goo-gaga”. It could not grant any wishes yet!

Suddenly, Ali felt droplets on his face as he saw, much to his horror, that the baby genie was regurgitating on him! Ali woke up and saw that his baby brother Irfan had crawled onto him and was drooling and giggling happily away. “Whew, it had just been a dream!”, Ali said, with a sigh of relief.

After breakfast, we visited an old fishing village at Aberdeen. There is a famous floating restaurant there called “Jumbo”, where Jackie Chan has shot several movies. The boats were decorated with many colourful lanterns. We also went to Repulse Bay where there’s a beautiful beach.

We went to Disneyland. We stayed at the Hollywood Hotel which is nearby. We spent the whole day going for all the rides in Disneyland. It was really fun! I met a school friend there and we went for the Dumbo Flying ride together. I most enjoyed the AstroBlasters ride. Mom & I went on that many times, trying to get higher scores with each ride!

There were beautiful fireworks at the Sleeping Beauty Castle at night.

After a sumptious breakfast at Chef Mickey’s café, we took an “Express Train” direct to China. It took us a rather long 4 hours to reach the city of ZhaoQing though. Many of my Grandmother’s nephews were waiting for us at that train station. They brought us to stay at a hotel with really huge rooms.
